A World Of Imagination With Step2’s Kitchen

October 7, 2016 / by Stacey Skrysak / 6 Comments

Toy Tester

My daughter has quite the imagination. At 3 years-old, she loves to pretend play and is absolutely obsessed with little kitchens. She whined when I made her leave the dentist because she wanted to stay and play with the kitchen. She had a near meltdown when it was time to leave her new preschool room, complete with a kitchen. So, it was like Christmas morning when we recently surprised Peyton with a Step2 Just Like Home Fun With Friends Kitchen. We are thrilled to be part of Step2’s toy tester program, where they sent Peyton this toy and we get to give an honest review.

We decided to put it in the play room on our second floor. It’s a fairly large size kitchen, but fit perfectly among the book shelves and craft table. The kitchen was a piece of cake to put together, which is saying a lot since I always leave any handiwork to my carpenter husband!

Peyton couldn’t contain her excitement as I opened the door and let her explore the new Fun With Friends Kitchen. It was precious watching her little mind work as she looked over every level and nook and cranny of the kitchen. It didn’t take long for Peyton to find her favorite feature – the single serve coffee maker. She watches me make coffee out of our Keurig every morning, so now she has her own pretend maker with darling coffee cups!

Another fun feature is the stove top. When you put a pot or pan on the burner, a sizzling noise and lights start up, giving it a realistic feeling. Step2 certainly thinks of everything! In addition to the coffee maker and stove, there’s an oven, microwave and refrigerator, which all open and are usable. Peyton has spent hours cooking burgers and cookies in the oven…quite the combo! And we can’t forget our favorite pets – there are even faux water and food bowls for your furry friend.

We had such a blast getting to be a toy tester for Step2. Peyton loves her new kitchen and can’t wait to have friends over to play. It’s the perfect size – a great height and it has plenty of room to fit several kids. Peyton even tried inviting her friends over, by using the pretend smart phone that’s included with the kitchen. It’s been a joy watching her create a world of imagination with Step2’s kitchen. Peyton’s on cloud nine and I am too!

Oh! how wonderful. What I would have given for a kitchen like that; mine was a 1940’s style–tin and rattled but I loved it anyway. Enjoy your kitchen Peyton.
