I get a text every night as I anchor the evening news.
My mother may be two time zones away, but she never misses a newscast. She logs onto her computer and tunes in.
I’ve been in my career going on two decades, but that doesn’t stop my mom from tuning in to watch her daughter.
In the thick of reporting on difficult news, and receiving countless messages about my “hideous outfit” or my fluctuating weight, my mom always sends me a positive little note.
Because that’s what moms do.
My mom is my biggest cheerleader and I’m forever grateful for the daily texts she sends my way.
I don’t know what my daughters will choose in the future, but no matter what their career path may be, I will be rooting on the sidelines…just like my mom has done for me.
