She’s here!!! After a few days of staring at her sweet face, we are so excited to share with you our new bundle of joy. Meet Piper Avery! Weighing 7lbs 15 oz, Piper was born on Sunday, August 11th. She arrived with chubby cheeks and a full head of hair and we are so in love.
In the past few months, my husband and I went back and forth on names. With our triplets, the difficult birth had us waiting several days to name our children. This time around, we knew fairly early. Piper Avery is a little nod to Heaven. The initials P and A are in honor of Parker and Abby, two of our triplets who passed away. We know they are cheering us on from above.
Meanwhile, our surviving triplet, Peyton is absolutely in love and obsessed with her new sister! We know the novelty of a crying baby will wear off, especially as she realizes that she is no longer getting the sole attention around the house, but she is taking her new role as big sister like a champ!
I’m doing great and have bounced back after a roller coaster weekend that included an earlier delivery than we expected and a scary few hours after birth (nothing is normal with my health!). But, baby Piper is doing fantastic and shocked not just us, but the doctors with her sturdy size! What a surreal experience bringing a healthy baby home. Piper is the same size that Peyton was at about 6 months old!
It’s been an emotional week as I face so many emotions that come with welcoming a baby after experiencing the loss of two children. Piper arrives within days of the anniversary of our son Parker’s death. To say we have felt every emotion possible, is an understatement. I’ll share more about that in the coming weeks.
In the meantime, I’m heading back to cuddling my sweet baby girl. This year has been so unexpected, in the best way. God knew we needed this little girl to complete our family, and we are so grateful to all of you for being along for this crazy ride.
